HemCon® OneStop™ Vascular and HemCon® GuardaCare PRO are hemostatic dressings for the external, temporary control of severely bleeding wounds intended for emergency use.

Unique Chitosan-based Biotechnology:
The products are composed of chitosan, a naturally occurring, biocompatible polysaccharide derived from shrimp shells. Chitosan’s positive molecular charge attracts negatively charged red blood cells, similar to a magnet. As the red blood cells are drawn to the bandage, a clot is formed in the wound.

HemCon® OneStop™ Vascular also controls bleeding in patients following hemodialysis and is indicated for the control of bleeding from the skin at percutaneous needle access, vascular access and percutaneous catheter access sites.

The dressing is indicated for the following wounds: skin surface puncture sites, vascular procedure sites, and sites involving percutaneous catheters.

HemCon® GuardaCare PRO is a z-folded, chitosan impregnated gauze. This mechanism of action supports localized clotting within and on the gauze to stop bleeding quickly and independently of the clotting cascade. The dressing readily conforms to wound surfaces with complex geometries to allow efficient staunching of all bleeding.
